The practice nurses have a wide ranging role and can advise on chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, as well as dealing with wounds, dressings, vaccinations, ear syringing, family planning advice and new patient medicals.
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks, dressings, and wound management.
Contact through Epsom General Hospital on 01372 735735 ext: 6721. The Community Midwife holds combined ante-natal and post-natal clinics at the Health Centre and visits patients at home for ante-natal and post-natal care.
The District Nursing team (who are employed by Central Surrey Health) are qualified nurses who have been specially trained to assess and give skilled nursing care in patients’ homes for those who are unable to get to the surgery.
Examples of services provided are: wound and skin care, bowel and bladder care, diabetic care, care of acutely ill and terminally ill patients, chemotherapy and liaison with other specialist nurses. Community Psychiatric Nurse
Telephone 0208 873 4300. The Community Psychiatric Nurses are based at the Joseph Palmer Centre in Molesey. They hold clinics at Cobham Health Centre. Their primary role is to assess an individual’s mental health needs and mobilise the resources of the Mental Health Team as appropriate for the individual.

The Health Visitors are part of the East Elmbridge 0-19 Team and are employed by Central Surrey Health. The health visiting service works in partnership with other agencies, including social services, to maintain and improve public health. The service is family centred and is staffed by health visitors and nursery nurses.
There is an appointment only well baby clinic run by the health visitors every Wednesday morning from 09:30 to 11:00. Appointments for this clinic can be made by ringing 020 8979 6464. Immunisation and development baby checks are carried out between 13:20 and 16:00 on Thursday afternoons. These clinics are run by a General Practitioner and Practice Nurses.
